Mechanical AutoCAD Draftsman

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop accurate 2D mechanical drawings and basic 3D layouts for engineering projects using AutoCAD.
• Prepare detailed fabrication and assembly drawings with annotations for dimensions, tolerances, materials, and fittings.
• Collaborate with senior design and engineering teams to finalize layouts, resolve technical concerns, and implement revisions.
• Ensure that all drawings comply with industry standards, engineering best practices, and company protocols.
• Support design optimization for better manufacturing efficiency and material usage.
• Make timely updates to drawings based on feedback and maintain revision records.
• Assist the production or fabrication teams with machine-ready drawing files.
• Participate in site visits for measurements and develop accurate as-built drawings, when required.
• Understand basics of BOM (Bill of Materials) preparation and contribute to project documentation.

Required Skills:

Technical:

• Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D drafting (mandatory); basic 3D modeling preferred.
• Knowledge of technical drawing standards, tolerancing, and blueprint reading.
• Familiarity with other tools like SketchUp, Revit, or 3Ds Max is a plus.

Industry Knowledge:

• Mechanical, architectural, or civil drafting principles.
• General awareness of construction methods, CNC fabrication, and project lifecycle.

Soft Skills:

• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and communication.
• Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and manage deadlines.
• Adaptability and willingness to learn from senior engineers.

Qualification & Experience:

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Drafting, Engineering, or Architecture.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in drafting using AutoCAD.
• Good understanding of engineering terminology and construction documentation.
• Exposure to site coordination and on-site measurements is an added advantage.
