Job Overview:
Tata Consulting Engineers Limited (TCE), a leading engineering consultancy under the Tata Group, is seeking a detail-oriented and skilled BIM MEP Engineer to join its growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and coordinating Building Information Models (BIM) for MEP systems, supporting multi-disciplinary design teams, and delivering high-quality engineering documentation for infrastructure, building, and industrial projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, manage, and coordinate 3D BIM models for MEP systems (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) using Revit MEP, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and other BIM tools.
- Review and integrate architectural, structural, and MEP models for clash detection and resolution.
- Generate construction documentation, coordinated layouts, shop drawings, and detailed BOQs.
- Support project delivery teams in adhering to BIM Execution Plans (BEP) and company standards.
- Participate in design coordination meetings, resolve conflicts, and ensure model accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
- Collaborate with design engineers and consultants to develop efficient, constructible, and code-compliant solutions.
- Maintain drawing documentation, version control, and project BIM standards.
Required Skills & Tools:
- Proficiency in Revit MEP, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and BIM 360 (or similar platforms).
- Strong understanding of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems and design workflows.
- Familiarity with MEP coordination, clash detection, and 3D model management.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and schematics.
- Excellent communication skills, team collaboration, and problem-solving ability.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 2–5 years of experience as a BIM Engineer or MEP Modeler in the construction, infrastructure, or engineering consultancy domain.
- Knowledge of international codes and standards (ASHRAE, NBC, NFPA) is an added advantage.
- Experience in large-scale BIM projects (commercial buildings, hospitals, metros, data centers, etc.) preferred.
